Coastal Run 7km (Distance altered in 2016!)
Beach Run 5km
Junior Run 2.5km (12yrs and under)
What better way to stay fit than run along Auckland’s favourite beach or coastline. Whether you’re a competitive runner or simply out for some social physical activity, come along and run at your own pace or set the pace! Don’t miss out on being part of the slightly altered 7km Coastal Run! A timing transponder will record your time to mark your progress throughout the season.
Beach running is a great activity suitable for young and old alike, and what better place to do it than on Auckland’s favourite central city beach – Takapuna Beach! Or for the slightly more adventurous get the feet wet and rock hop your way around the North Shore coastline.
Forget about the hazards of a busy city street, instead enjoy the breath-taking views of Rangitoto and beyond at the Harcourts Cooper & Co Beach Series.
Coastal Run 7km
The Coastal Run 7km is strictly a 16+ years and above coastal run. Leaving Takapuna Beach and running 3.5km north out and back north to Castor Bay Beach. The course is designed for the keen runner. It will see you running on sand, over rocks, through pools – expect to get your feet wet! High Tide evenings you will cross the estuary at Milford, expect to be in waist deep water. All participant times are recorded and available to view on the results page of this website, allowing you to track your progress throughout the season. Points are allocated based on your times and will count towards the Overall Series Competition and Age Group Competition, so long as you participate in 12 or more events.
Beach Run 5km
The Beach Run 5km offers the chance for participants of all abilities – from the social runner through to the competitive – to challenge themselves. Takapuna Beach provides a picturesque location, no roads, no traffic and exhaust fumes, plus a firm sandy base to run on. Come along and run at your own pace, set your own personal challenge or run with your friends and family. All participants times are recorded and available to view on the results page of this website, allowing you to track your progress throughout the season. Points are allocated based on your times and will count towards the Overall Series Competition and Age Group Competition, so long as you participate in 12 or more events.
Junior Run 2.5km
The Junior Run 2.5km is a great distance for the 5–12 year old kids and a great event for them to do with friends and family. They will be timed and given points and can check these on the results page of the website after each event. The points will accrue towards the Age Group Series Competition, so long as they participate in 12 or more events. We strongly recommend parents run alongside children under the age of 8 years old for safety reasons – parents are free to do this at no charge.
