Do I take part in a Swim, Run or Stand Up Paddle event each night or all 3 events on one night?

Participants choose to take part in one of the three event disciplines each week. If you purchase a multi pass you pick your default category and distance and that is the event you will always be entered into. However, you can change this on the night, just let the registration team know of your change.
Swimmers changing to run or SUP – you must purchase a vest $15.00
Runners or SUPers you must purchase a swim cap if changing to the swim $10.00

Do I have to take part in all 18 events within the season?

Participants choose to take part in as many events as they like during the season, any number between 1 and 18. Note – by purchasing a multi event pass (6, 12 or 18 events at once), you save time (by not having to complete multiple entry forms week after week) and money on the cost of each event.

How do I enter?

We recommend that you enter online to save time on the night and money (it is more expensive to enter at the event). Online entries will close at 2.00pm on event day.

You can also enter on the night at Francs Bar, opposite Takapuna Beach Reserve from 5.00pm, please ensure you allow sufficient time to enter and be ready to take part in your event.

What happens at my first event?

If you have entered online you will still need to go to the event registration between 5-6pm to collect your event apparel and event timing chip.

Runners and Paddlers will receive a Harcourts Beach Series run vest and Swimmers will receive swim cap. These are provided by our awesome naming sponsor Harcourts and are compulsory to wear at every Harcourts Beach Series event.

If you have purchased a 6, 12 or 18 multi event pass you will collect a Permanent Timing Chip and strap, which is yours to keep for the duration of the Series. For those doing less than 4 events you will be issued a temporary Timing Chip and strap at each event, that we will collect back from you at the finish of each event.

How much does it cost?

The entry fee varies depending on the event you enter and the amount of event credits/passes you purchase. Please see the pricing structure on the entry fees page for a detailed breakdown.

Are there family and group discounts available?

What if I lose my Timing Chip?

The timing chip is on loan to you for the Series. If you lose your chip a replacement will cost $30. Replacement chips are available from registration on event nights in Francs Bar.

What do I do with my Timing Chip when I have finished the Series?

After you have completed your last event of the season the Timing Chip needs to be returned to the timing officials or into the Timing Chip bucket at the end of the Finish Chute.

What happens to my credits at the end of the Season?

Credits cannot be rolled over to the next season so we recommend you take note of your credits so you know you are not going to have excess remaining at the end of the season. Please note – this season credits CAN be used to participate in Event 18

Is the event timed?

Yes, you will be provided with a timing chip to wear around your ankle. You will cross over a timing mat before starting your event and again at the finish line. This timing mat will pick up your time. These results will be uploaded to the Results page of our website on a Tuesday evening after each event.

Where do I find my results?

You can find your results on the Results Page of our website. These will be loaded on Tuesday evenings following each event.

Can I win prizes?

Spot prizes will be awarded each week and announced on a weekly email. You can collect your prize from the event the following week. If you are not currently receiving these weekly event emails you can sign up to receive these through our homepage.
