Hospice North Shore

The Harcourts Beach Series team is proud to have Hospice North Shore as the charity partner! Help us continue the amazing work they do in the North Shore community.

We’re proud to be supporting Hospice North Shore including donating part of every persons’ registration fee to Hospice North Shore.  We encourage you to also make a donation when registering online; this will go directly to support the wonderful work Hospice North Shore do in the North Shore community.

hospiceYour support of the Harcourts Beach Series ensures that people on the North Shore who are living with a terminal illness have the best Hospice care possible.  The team at Hospice North Shore work to make sure everyone in their care has the best quality of life for the time they have left and to live as pain and symptom free as possible.  To know that they and their families are not travelling this journey alone and that caring Hospice staff and volunteers are on hand 24/7.

Most people in Hospice care want to remain at home and for many, they want to die at home when the time comes, so the team from Hospice works with them and their family to help make this a reality where possible.

Patients and their families are partners in the decisions about their care – what is important to them is important to those working in Hospice.   It is as much about compassion, emotional support as it is about medical support.  Hospice looks after the whole person(s).

There is also an Inpatient unit available for short-term care.  When symptom management is required, or families are exhausted from caring for their loved one they are brought into the homely unit where they are cared for by wonderful Hospice staff.

I came here 12 days ago by ambulance, in bad pain and being administered oxygen.  I leave today – painless and with regained great quality of life.

After all these years, our family still can’t thank you enough for all the support that was provided for our family.
